"Little" Walk and Superb Omelet - Mary K. McDonald

The first thing that comes to my mind is hilarious to me, perhaps to nobody else. I had written a letter to your Mom and Dad from Logan, Utah, our first pastorate. Your Dad framed the letter but took it down when I told him on one visit I had gone to a Hilary Clinton parade! (I think he must not have liked her.) Do you remember seeing that letter in your dining room? It was something about self centeredness vs. Christ centeredness, but your ole Dad was impressed, for awhile anyway. I never should have been on that pedestal anyway! lol

The next thing that comes to my mind is our trip to Ireland with them for BEE. You know how your Dad liked to walk. Well, he talked your Mom and Mike and I into a "little" walk. It turned out to be 17 miles. I was so mad at him! (But we had a fabulous time on that trip, seeing the sheep in the green meadow, etc.) So many fabulous memories.

The next thing that comes to mind is our last visit to Albuquerque when he was there, many times he was not and I would just visit your Mother. Anyway, Glen made us this superb omelet with more vegetables than eggs and he was so proud of himself. That was the first and only time he ever cooked for us. Usually your Mother would put on a big spread and would love every minute of it.

The seminary memories Mike will hopefully write. They had a fabulous time there together, at the shop, in class, at the chess board, wilderness camping, church, so many wonderful times together. I know Mike has talked about times they'd race in the pool and both were so strong willed they'd die before they'd lose. The "cobanya" days building with the rich Dallas lady; all the shop theology talks, and one very private moment only Glen and your Dad and I knew about, and YOUR DAD WAS THERE FOR US. Nobody else knew about it. That actually might be why I was on Glen's pedestal for awhile.
